In fact, some situations can be downright strange. Here are 4 of the weirdest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dentistpasadenatx.com\/emergency-dentistry.html\">dental emergencies<\/a> that have caught people off guard.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Sprouting Emergency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Small seeds can get stuck between your teeth or in your gum\ntissue. Although it may seem like nothing more than a nuisance, they can\nactually sprout. Believe it or not, there have been cases of sprouts occurring from\ntrapped fruit seeds. The mouth contains plenty of bacteria and moisture,\nallowing a tiny plant to emerge if the seed isn\u2019t removed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve enjoyed your favorite fruit, brush and floss your\nteeth well to ensure there aren\u2019t any small seeds left behind. If one is too\ndifficult to get out at home, don\u2019t hesitate to contact your dentist for\nassistance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Maggot Infestation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically, when envisioning maggots, you might picture\nrotten food; however, dentists have seen infestations in the mouth. When foods\ncontaining fly larva are ingested and the teeth aren\u2019t clean well afterward,\nthe eggs can grow in the gingival tissue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gums can become severely swollen, which you might think\nis a bad case of gum disease, but there might be a bigger underlying problem.\nAlthough it is unlikely maggots are the source of your discomfort, it\u2019s best to\nsee your dentist right away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. False Bridge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Poor dental hygiene can lead to a severe buildup of tartar,\nwhich can cover the teeth. If it isn\u2019t resolved, it can destroy the supporting\nstructures of your teeth. Tartar can also create a bridge, holding your teeth\nin place, even if they aren\u2019t attached to the gums. As a result, your teeth can\ncome out along with the tartar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular brushing and flossing at home can prevent tartar, so\nyou don\u2019t need to worry about a false sense of security. Don\u2019t forget to visit\nyour dentist at least twice a year for a cleaning and checkup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Hole in the Mouth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A palatal perforation occurs when a hole develops in the\nroof of the mouth. It results from the blood vessels in the upper palate\nconstricting, which restricts oxygen flow to the tissue. The tissue will die,\nleaving behind a hole.
